Multilingual and multidisciplinary, Pierre-Alain Brandt lives between Switzerland and France. After studying at the New Academy of Fine Arts, in Milan, and the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, he decides to improve his knowledge and obtains a Master in History of Art and Archaeology at Paris IV. His visual expression is conveyed into photography and video art, as well as painting. His work has been exhibited in Milan, Paris, Brussels, and Nagoya.
For almost ten years, he collaborated with an artistic association based in Vevey, Switzerland. The work involved the capture of the musical gesture, e-motions, moving between the real and the virtual. Pierre-Alain Brandt created a video for the show De page en page and produced an opera for young audiences, L’Enfant et la Nuit.
Nowadays his work is focusing on the notions of gesture and memory with Hecho en Cuba and a new project related to the traditions of the indigenous communities of Chiapas, Mexico.
Lecturer of Art Direction at the CREA Geneva School for several years, Pierre-Alain Brandt is now a member of the educational committee of Polycom SAWI and teaches Artistic Culture.
